Finding it hard

Do you know how some people talk about dangling a carrot in front of the donkey (horse?) so they will move? Well, sometimes I feel like I am the jackass (aka donkey) slowly moving towards this unattainable goal of doing well in school. Why is it so hard? Because I am a lazy idiot. What really stresses me out is how everything is so theoretical right now and is not concrete, I feel like I am wandering in a sea of “opinions” that may or may-not be true. Blah, I guess the best I can do is just write down everything and just study it all.

Reading reading KABOOM! Dead.

Random quote:

quoteIf man is to survive, he will have learned to take a delight in the essential differences between men and between cultures. He will learn that differences in ideas and attitudes are a delight, part of life’s exciting variety, not something to fear.

- Gene Roddenberry

I spent so many hours reading my nursing textbooks today that the words were kind of floating by without really getting absorbed. One part that I do really recall right now is about culture differences and how for Asians, they sometimes tend to hide discomfort or distress behind a smile and the first thought that popped into my mind was thats so true!

Diss or truth?

Random quote:

quoteWhen you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.

Lao-Tzu

I was looking at a couple of websites recently when I noticed that atleast three of them called themselves a bitch in their profiles, and trust me when I say I didn’t get enough internet connectivity to see all that many websites. Now, I know that I for one like to call myself a bitch – I am crabby and grouchy, I admit it – every once in a while as an ongoing joke with my cousin, but is that really one of the first things that come to mind when you think of yourself? Or is it really just the fact that everyone else seems to have slowly – or quickly- evolved from thinking that being called a bitch is offensive and rude to being considered amusing, inclusive and “cool”?
